Fifth Sun: A New History of the Aztecs by Camilla Townsend

BIG fan of this one. Townsend is one of the leading historians on Mexica and Nahua history as written by them. This, along with Broken Spears and We People Here, is one of the best sources on the Mexica from their perspective.
Townsend critically analyses her sources but does not dismiss them out of hand either, and this book is a nicely organized, well told history of what is now Mexico, from ~1200 to ~1700. I borrowed this from the library but will be purchasing it when I’m able.
