Will by Kerry Kilpatrick
4.0
"He was fucking everything that mattered to me in this world."
How sweet I thought this book was going to be had me from beginning.
I mean it is a sweet one but also it is filled with the best kind of spice that comes out of nowhere simply because it is unexpected and so damn good.
Will & Beckett were the unexpected but also they really make sense in the best way possible.
The introvert with the extrovert.
The daddy & boy.
This is my first Daddy/Boy dynamic book where there is no age play I believe and I must say it was done really well and I really enjoyed it. The way that it unfolds is in the best way and not in a rush or hurry and get the details down.
You never expect the bigger man to be the boy and I think that is the best part about this book for me, Beckett is the grumpiest of grumps and his outward attitude could be off putting but how can he not be that way after how he is treated, seriously his family grated on my nerves to no end!
Enter in Will. The neighbor who has wanted him since he first seen him when he moved in next door. Will is that soft that Beckett needs but also has that sternness that comes out when it is needed, oh phew when it comes out it is intense and completely changes the moment.
Both of these men have their issues but none so much that it is harped on throughout. There is the main reason Beckett is the way that he is and to say that it hurts to read those parts is an understatement. The people who are supposed to be the ones who love you unconditionally should not be the ones that tear you down so much that you can't see straight but in his world that is the case.
Until his daddy steps in...
There is so much about this book that is so good but I wouldn't expect any less from Kerry.
This is a great start to a new series and I cannot wait to get more from this island.
