Rock Rebel by Tara Leigh
5.0
As I've heard about Tara and her books from my friends, I just had to read one and luckily I started with this book. Probably my mistake as I have to go back and read the other two books in the series as it's more than I would expect for and I am in a way speechless.
First, you have to know that there are some triggers that maybe some people can't read about them and involves METOO which I know it was hard to make its way out in the spotlight and make everyone more aware of it and that it's still happening in this year.
I'll start by saying that this blew me away with the stronger than any heroine that I've read about, Verity, that had to go through hell all her life, with a mother that was her manager and pushed her to do anything and everything a child shouldn't even think about it. After a TV show failed she decided to get away from her mother and her life and start on her own as a singer as she really wanted all her life even if she knew it's going to be very hard and maybe the past won't leave her alone, which unfortunately happened.
Dax is the guitarist in Nothing but Trouble band that he found himself within one night after giving up at his family musical group and looking for a woman who gave up on him and pursued another life for herself. He is the all in one artist, he plays any instrument, writes his own music and composes for the band and recording company.
When Verity lands a contract with the same recording house as Dax band, they get to work together and even she will sing one of his songs without knowing that he is the one that wrote it inspired by her. Their attraction is undeniable and Dax is the perfect boyfriend, treating her with more respect and care than anyone has ever done it for her,and although both have to overcome their past, there is a great relationship building between them, each one learning how to trust again and find a happy ever after with the ones that their heart wants (and body as the scenes were of the charts hot and you will understand why Dax is so perfect)
It'a very hot book, with a lot of lol scenes, great banter, and discussions, instalust all over and you just don't want to put this book down (even if life interfere )and also treats the topics around #metoo as well as her relationship with her mother.
