Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

Crazy Rich is the correct term to describe the kind of wealth the characters had in the book. I had watched the movie before I read the book because I thought I wasn't going to read the book. But I did end up reading it recently. And loved every bit of it!
Long story short: Rachel, an economics professor at NYU, Nick, her boyfriend who is also a professor, visit Singapore for the summer to attend Nick's best friend's wedding. As Rachel reels from a culture shock, she also finds out that Nick actually belongs to a crazy rich family . . . and his is not the only one. Soon, she meets his family and drama ensues.
This book had SO much drama, which not only revolved around the couple but their family members, too. But, to be honest, it did feel like certain parts were dragged, especially Astrid's. Apart from this, I quite enjoyed it; it was humorous. It's a perfect book to read when you are not in a mood for something serious or are in a slump. Despite being more than 400 pages long, it's a fast read because you'd want to know what happens next! A light-hearted read, I totally recommend this one.
