(Vol. 1) The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion by Beth Brower
4.0
This was a DELIGHT.
This series is made up of short novellas, exactly as advertised: the journals of Emma M. Lion. Emma is a young woman who has recently returned to London to take up residence in her house in the whimsical, just-a-little-bit-magic neighborhood of St. Crispian's. Emma's world is full of humor, biting commentary, and odd and unusual characters (not the least of which is herself).
I very much enjoyed the narrative voice with which this book was written, and immediately downloaded the second one as soon as I finished!
