Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing by Matthew Perry

4.0

What I Did Like:
+OMG the audiobook is narrated by Matthew Perry. I was not emotionally prepared for that. Also, I loved it. Highly, highly recommend the audio version.
+Honest and raw look at addiction. Matthew Perry was not afraid to lay out everything he’d been through and every battle he’d fought. This would be an incredible read for someone trying to understand an addicted loved one’s battle.
+The humor is 100% Perry. Breaking up a tough subject is funny one-liners and jokes. It makes it feel easier to swallow, somehow, while also easing tension. It gives the entire book HIS voice, which is beautiful.

Who Should Read This One:
-Matthew Perry fans this is one you’ll enjoy, want to own, and come back to. I highly recommend it as an audiobook.
-Loved ones of addicts, I respectfully recommend this one as a way to understand what addicts are dealing with. It’s raw and real but also easy to understand and relate to.

My Rating: 4 Stars
A beautiful, but difficult, nonfiction picture of addiction.
