Black Borders by Rakshanda Jalil, Saadat Hasan Manto
5.0
this short collection is the perfect introduction to manto’s candid, controversial, and stark writing style for me. my dad is an avid manto reader and loves his work so much, so i’ve been meaning to read some of his work for a long time. this was very short but such an interesting read; the little snapshots into the atrocities of the partition are shown with such nonchalance that it only exemplifies the horrors faced. so many stories left me feeling numb and shocked to my core.
