Their Lethal Pet by Lexi C. Foss
4.0
It’s impossible to not just get lost into this world, I felt myself drawn in almost instantly. How one can feel both carried back in time and shown a glimpse of the future simultaneously, I don’t even know, but this does back vibes for both.
It’s hard to not admire the profound genius that would’ve been required for this level of world-building from early on. ‘Their Lethal Pet’ is set within a cluster of multiple worlds and it crosses over—extremely smoothly—with yet others and it’s brilliant.
There were parallels to ‘The Hunger Games’, but this still felt very original and very befitting of the Midnight Fae and Hell Fae realms, so if you’re a fan of the Faeverse, you shouldn’t miss this book.
A/B/O dynamic…ish.
Group scenes and no choosing.
Mysteries.
All sorts of h3ll fae & mixes.
Monsters, shifters, ALL the supernaturals.
Br33ding.
Incredible world-building.
Fated mates / soulmates.
Royalty.
0m3ga h3at.
Br33ding (sometimes f0rced).
A twisted version of trafficking, sort-of
Evil, oppressive governments.
Genetics interference / playing god.
Overall:
This was excellent and I’ll be periodically re-reading it for the rest of my days. I cannot wait to read and hear the other 2 standalones books in this world … and I’m eagerly awaiting Serapina’s story.
4 stars.
