This book was surprisingly good. I didn't think much of it when I picked it up, only that I had the urge to read one of VC Andrews's books. But a few chapters in and I was really invested.

The main character was great to read about. She was smart, kind, and I loved hearing her thoughts. I had some ideas about how the story was about to go but it was entirely different than I expected. The plot twist truly shocked me. I didn't expect that at all.

It was interesting to read about her life and views about being an orphan. The way she had to depend solely on herself, and what it's like to move in with a new family. It can be so scary to try to navigate a new house, a new family, a new life. To learn about their odd quirks and whatnot.

I didn't want this book to end, and I wish I have the other 3 books in the series. It would be nice to read about the other girls.
