“You never wanted the decency of my love, did you, beloved? All you wanted was the violence of my obsession with you.”
I don’t think any rating or review can accurately describe the emotions that this book evoked in me.
Firstly, the premise of this book is so fucking unique and fascinating. The dynamics between Hunter and Cosmo and how they shift throughout the book. Hunter basically assuming a Daddy role for Cosmo despite never being interested in the lifestyle, and then absolutely nailing it. The love and care he had for Cosmo was everything.
I will say Hunter was super dislikable to me at several points throughout this book, but it never really took away from my reading experience. Cosmo though? Absolutely adored him. Such a fun and lovable boy.
The plot twists were crazy. I literally never knew what to expect next, and every theory I came up with was wrong. I just had so much fun never being able to anticipate what crazy event happened next.
The spice was spicing, but honestly I loved the sweet and soft moments way more. I’m still on the fence on how I feel about age play/regression but I loved it in this book. Everything just absolutely worked for me.
The last handful of chapters though? I was physically ill. Have never had a book affect me the way this one did. And I mean this in the best way, because I was absolutely immersed in this story, so much so that my chest ached.
I cannot say enough great things about this book. I am 100% reading everything by Gianni Holmes now.
