Four years ago, Evander broke Aphrodite’s heart by forsaking his promise to marry her when she turned 18. Now a widow, he’s back in town for his sister’s society debut wanting that old thing back without initially offering an explanation or apology. Even with the pressure to marry looming over her head, Aphrodite is prepared to resist regardless of her mother’s meddling. But the heart wants what the heart wants. The entire book was great–mystery, romance, a little spice–but the second half really drew me into the Regency Era setting. The epilogue was peak cuteness.
