Trail of the Lost: The Relentless Search to Bring Home the Missing Hikers of the Pacific Crest Trail by Andrea Lankford

adventurous informative mysterious reflective medium-paced

4.5

Lankford did an amazing job documenting her searches. The book felt incredibly thorough but not dry. I liked the way she wove the many searches together and grouped theories. The ending was surprising, but ended on a hopeful tone. As someone quite familiar with PCT culture and history, I thought this book was approachable to thru-hikers or people who had never heard of the PCT. She captured the amazing culture of the trail, and the scary and dark sides of it, but she didn't choose a side. All in all, great book.
