The book feels a little thin and isn't all that great but it's a nice lead-in to Pynchon's great paranoiac works. I had read it before many years ago, probably before finishing any of his others (I false started GR in particular a few times back then). I do love the conspiracy ride in this one, and the idea of WASTE.
