This did not feel like a novel.  Pages upon pages of snippets about Herman Melville and other writers. There are a few fragments about the protagonist's life. Her wedding dinner was at Applebees and other sad reveals. Dead people were more meaningful to this protagonist than anything. Is this like a non-fiction/novel hybrid or something experimental? Ugh.
