This one in the series didn't hit quite right for me, the pacing seemed off. Insta-mate at the beginning and then the end wrapped up very quickly. Ethan was sweet and interesting arrow, but I don't think we got to know his past in as much detail as some other arrow which was a shame, the reveal also wasn't convincing to me, also weird that we didn't see Selenka's wolf shift at all. I'm also getting a bit fed up with the destined to die, attempted self-sacrifice and the last-minute save. It is repeated in a lot of Psy books plots and feels a bit like filler or Nalini is running out of ideas. However, regardless of my moaning it was still an interesting Nalini book, with an engaging plot, sweet/steamy romance, and wrapped up in the larger Psy/Changeling world and world events. I will probably continue to read but I'm hoping Nalini re-ignites her interest in the series and starts writing about some different characters and combinations of couples, I am still holding out hope to revisit Kaleb, have a couple with another Justice Psy, or one of the homeless Psy or had a Psy couple awaken from silence together and falling in love or even a couple of non-preditor changelings. I feel like we are jumping from one superpower to the next and exploring some less powerful couples/indeviduals could add a lot of depth and other POV's.
