Well, I did it. I read it. BookTok made me do it and I loved it. I literally finished it in one sitting and then started the second one in the same sitting. I only stopped because my husband was like, "Seriously, you have to go to bed" and I looked at the clock and it was 2am.
I mean, is it problematic? Yes. If BookTok hadn't recommended it SO strongly, I definitely would have noped out at the absolutely brutal gangrape that happens on page. But everyone was fangirling so hard, I thought, "this can't be what the rest of the book is like, no one would gush so hard about this." Also, I feel like I'm learning a little bit too much of the author's preferences because every single book has the same format more or less. But I guess if you find a formula that the people like, you stick with it.
I'm glad I stuck with it. I've read 4.5 of the books in the past 36 hours. My brain is mush. I'm so tired. I can't put the books down. They're addictive.
