Patch Up by Stephanie Witter

5.0

Warning! This book contains physical violence against women. If you're uncomfortable with this topic, I highly suggest not reading this story

Patch Up was a quite interesting book which threw me off guard for a bit. The basic just of this story is a broken girl who meets a broken boy, and they help each other heal. Simple right? Not so fast. Not only are Skye and Duke deeply damaged, they are no where near ready to begin healing. Not only that, but both Duke and Skye have a tenancy to push people away and run from their problems. All of this make getting to know one another extremely difficult.

I found this book both dark and sweet, while also suspenseful and addictive. The characters were well thought out and extremely dimensional. I never felt that the author made the characters emotions and relationship progress too quickly, instead if felt very natural given the situation they were facing. The writing itself was well done and very felt rushed or fell flat. The author did a fabulous job bringing emotion into the story and I found myself in tears at several points throughout the book.

I was beyond thrilled to see that Ms. Witter wrote a follow up book about Skye and Duke, and I can't wait to get my hands on it to see what happens next.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion*
