Other Minds: The Octopus, the Sea, and the Deep Origins of Consciousness by Peter Godfrey-Smith

adventurous funny informative inspiring fast-paced

5.0

This is a good pair to The Soul of the Octopus. It’s more focused on the published research, the human aspect, and the philosophical problems than Montgomery’s work–which was all to the good for me. I almost wish I’d read it last fall when I was in a cognition & consciousness course; it’s a little lighter than a scientific work, but well grounded in the science.

And of course, more cephalopod stories :D
