Roadside Religion: In Search of the Sacred, the Strange, and the Substance of Faith by Timothy Beal

hopeful informative reflective fast-paced

4.0

This is a fun little book, truly fascinating project to visit roadside religious attractions - most of which are closed at this point, 20 years later.  I would have liked a lot more info about the attractions and less about his personal faith journey, but some of the theological points were quite interesting - you can't have the sacred without the profane, so maybe a mini golf course is an important religious location - and it was a very quick read.
