Blood Like Fate by Liselle Sambury

5.0

Blood Like Fate is a YA (young adult) sci-fi/fantasy sequel that shines through with family dynamics and the ethics of technology with some witchy and ancestral themes as well. Blood Like Fate picks up a few months are Blood Like Magic and Voya is struggling with the adjustment to being the new Matriarch of her family. While trying to figure out her feelings for Luc and their strained dynamic, she has a vision where she must unite and gain the respect of the other Matriarchs to stop it from coming true. Liselle Sambury creates this urban sci-fi/fantasy with culture, family, and community as its epicenter with a whole lot of twists that makes you as nervous as Voya. In the end, this book served as great ending to this duology, having you wonder about the near future of our own world and its technological advances.
