They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

3.0

What I Did Like:
+Excellent premise. The idea is creative and the details work. The book revolves around the implications that would happen if science found a way to tell you the day of your death between midnight and 3 AM on the day you’ll die. The implications (some stated and some only shown) are the best part of this book.
+The two main POV characters are different enough to make their chapters unique. The voices are different and the vibe is different. Rufus is softer than he pretends to be and Mateo is stronger than he thinks he is. Together they’re a great dynamic.
+The ending works. I won’t say more than that because I don’t like to spoil books even if I feel like I’m the last person to read them. But the ending works. I loved it (and of course hated it, readers get it) all the way to the last sentence.

Who Should Read This One:
-If you like when a future world is wholly different because of one change or invention and you like to watch that play out, get this one. It’s actually what makes this one unique and cool in a big way.
-Readers who want to feel. This one is definitely filled with moments intended to make you feel those emotions.

My Rating: 3 Stars
The premise is great and the main characters are wonderful.
