Amazing follow up to the Chalk Man. You could definitely tell it was the same author. Similar pacing and way of narrating. If you did not enjoy the chalk man the tone and writing are so similar even with a much different story you won't like this. I enjoyed the story and raw emotion of the main characters, the twists were interesting even when you knew what it would be, it was so well set up it worked. I'm still not convinced by the touch of speculative/ paranormal, its seems an unnecessary addition to the story and sometimes takes you outside of the main narrative. But overall still a 5 star read.
