44 Chapters about 4 Men by BB Easton

5.0

I first heard about this from the advertising on Netflix and I did watch the show and was intrigued enough to purchase the book. I was expecting some kind of cross between Sex and City and Bridget jones's diary. And that is pretty much it. Now I will admit the show is like a 3/5 star but the book is absolutely 5/5. It has much more humor and whimsy than the show and BB comes across as a lot more laid back, funny, feisty, and less negative and whiney than the show. The book is hilarious, sexy, and over the top. And while it does describe some weird, tragic, and serious issues, there is overall a great feel-good tone to the entire book. BB wants to improve her great marriage and make it amazing while reminiscing about some real and some fake past relationships. Right from the beginning you know there is truth, lies, and exaggerations all weaved together to create this. Whereas in the show, it's so serious and she is just on a mission to destroy her marriage and life by chasing a fantasy. Also, I was a little in love with BB's husband Ken by the end of it! The writing is fun, engaging, and easy to read. PS this is absolutely not PC, in fact at times it's insulting and sometimes mean. But still laugh out loud funny.
