It's been a minute since I've picked up a classic and man have I missed it! This book reminded me why I love classics so much. They're beautifully written and they tackle themes worth one's reflection. Shelley's writing here is astounding. The entire book reads almost like a play, with excellent, compelling, and dramatic monologues that kept me invested in the characters as well as thrilling prose that had me gasping multiple times. I especially loved the discussion on the dangers of playing god and the tragedies that befall societies that alienate certain individuals based on their appearance. Highly recommended as a gateway to classics!
