First and most importantly, free Palestine. Anyways, this book was clearly rushed and poorly edited. Fourth Wing wasn't to my taste and I accept that I wasn't the target audience (still true), but this had glaring faults that made it even harder to slog through. It should have ended after part one and been split into two books to allow for more focus on, I don't know, making a stronger story in the first place.

There were too many side plots that added nothing but bloat to the story, too many of the same argument between Violet and Xaden, too many pages of them literally just making out. And don't get me started on the Other Woman Drama. It's 2023, why are we still doing this?

IMO, this book failed to balance the fantasy and romance aspects and ended up fumbling both and making a mess. The dragons tried to carry it but that was too much even for them. Will I read the next one? Maybe, and only because I let three of my coworkers borrow Fourth Wing and they all loved it and were so looking forward to borrowing the sequel too. I'm genuinely glad for the people that love it but that really wasn't me.
