Really enjoyed this! It is a Miss Maple trope-type murder mystery but with an amazing group of older friends, trying to solve crimes to add interest in their later years. The emerging friendship is a real strength of this book. Great characters, good dialogues, and an interesting mystery with enough twists to be interesting. I also really enjoyed the depth added, with approaching real-life issues such as dealing with dementia, grief, loss of health, boredom after retirement, and the fear of losing your mind and health. This emotional depth is what changed this from a 3 to 4 star for me. I just liked the pace, writing, and plot better of the Marlow Murder Club, which is also a very similar trope/plot.
