Although Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak didn't give me the chills I was hoping for, it did give me the THRILLS! At some point, I thought I had it all pieced together and I was feeling pretty cocky like "Ha, I figured it out and I still have the book". Oh, how I became very humbled by, not knowing at any point what was going to happen next. Hidden Pictures is about a young recovery addict named Mallory, who by chance falls into a job as a live-in babysitter for the Maxwell family and their young son Teddy. Soon after Mallory moves into the cottage shed on the property and officially starts her job. But quickly she notices some strange things going on with Teddy, his artwork, and his imaginary friend Anya. From the first page to the last page, Hidden Pictures had me hooked! The book is well written and full of suspense page after page, and I liked how the author added illustrations for the reader to get a feel of the mysterious artwork that was being drawn. It's a great read, again it's listed as a horror novel, but it didn't have the chilling effect as much as the thrill of finding out just what was going on.
