This author has my heart. This story is a beauty and the beast retelling, where Caitrin, a young scribe trying to escape her past, comes to Whistling Tor. There, its master and it’s residents are not what they seem.
I loved this book almost as much as I loved the Daughter of the Forest. The author is incredibly talented at weaving a beautiful love story with a mystical mystery tied to the land. I loved all the characters, and thought that each one was actually fairly fleshed out, which I don’t think always occurred in her other works. Highly recommend for fans of the Sevenwaters books.
