Perfect Fit by Clare Gilmore
2.5
Thanks, St. Martin’s Griffin, for the arc!
I have to say I expected from Claire GIlmore’s second novel, PERFECT FIT, after being a fan of her debut, LOVE INTEREST. The first book had me laughing out loud, interested in the love story, and rooting for the couple, while this had me wondering when it would be over. I didn’t DNF because I would be pulled back with my interest piqued, only to be disappointed. I finished it, but it won’t be memorable, where I still remember LOVE INTEREST from when I read it last year.
A PERFECT FIT has a strange type of insta-love in it. They already know each other, reconnect, and are suddenly hot and heavy again. Then there is all this back and forth because of her ex-best friend, his twin sister. It just wasn’t exciting. I was more interested in listening about her fashion business than her life. I honestly feel that it kept drawing me back in, and I should have just skimmed to the fashion parts with it and DNF the book.
I hope Gilmore’s next book is more entertaining, like LOVE INTEREST, because I enjoyed that one!
