A Stranger in the House by Shari Lapena

3.0

This was … okay.
Nothing original, nothing spectacular. And noting different from all the other Lapena books I’ve read so far. I’m learning that this author’s work is good for when you need something sorta mindless, but not just a romance, while you work or do other things. Highly predictable. Supposed to be twisty, but all the ‘twists’ you see coming from chapter one so they’re not true twists.

She was do a good job designing master-manipulators and psycho- and/or sociopaths (in my unprofessional opinion on that front).

And they are … just barely entertaining enough that I finish them—IF I’m doing something esle too though, as they can’t really standalone.

All that said, this wasn’t bad by any means! It just also wasn’t good.

3 stars.
