“Every fairytale has a nugget of truth buried in it.”
“I needed that poison. I needed that monster. I would get them, no matter what I had to do.”
“The thought of a priest finding wax, blood, and my semen on his holy altar turned me on more than it should have.”
I have mixed feelings about this book. There were some parts I liked, but unfortunately, I felt like something was missing.
I enjoyed the dark academia vibes, the mysterious elements, and the Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde dynamic. Plus, I can never say no to monster smut.
However, I had a hard time connecting with the characters and didn’t really feel the chemistry between Nora and Alec. In my opinion the mate aspect could have been explained a bit more.
Overall, not a bad book. A nice fall-time or spooky season read.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
