Oh poor Bree. This book left me so sad for her and her hopelessness. And Sel! Poor Sel is gone and I really hope they find a way to bring him back because he needs to be the endgame! Also the twist of Erebus being the Shadow King was genius! I knew there was something weird about him the whole time but I couldn’t put anything together. I did guess that the Hunter was the Shadow King as well and that he was the one to bloodmark Bree but the Erebus part surprised me. I also really liked that the book ended on a low note where no one had gotten what they had set out to achieve at the beginning. The only thing that was accomplished is getting Nick away from his father. It’s definitely where the second book in a trilogy should be.
In all, this book made me feel all of the feelings: happy, sad, hopeless, determined, swoony, despair and everything in between. Just like a good book should.
