not nearly as good as gone with the wind. and i have to say, i think alexandra ripley doesn't catch scarlett's true spirit. all of a sudden she's loving and kind. but what happened to ruthless, bitchy scarlett? and at the end, rhett tells her they're "wandering souls" or some bullshit like that. well what happened to that huge fight in [b:gone with the wind|18405|Gone With The Wind|Margaret Mitchell|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166913011s/18405.jpg|3358283] to save the plantation? i don't buy it.
