Just as trashy and heartfelt as the first, I loved it. It follows Ildiko and Brishen as they deal with the repercussions of his mothers choices at the end of the last book. 

Action, romance, friendship, and deep bonds of love and community. I love how serious this author takes duty and love, it really makes the plot and stakes seem much more intense and important. Although those aren’t complex, her treatment of the feelings involved make it much more moving and important-feeling. I really enjoy her writing and can’t wait to read the next!
