one star for college kashaf and college kashaf only.
this book was nothing short of atrocious. from the rampant misogyny in zaroon to the abuse, it was a complete shitshow.
i literally had to muster all my power to finish, it was that excruciating.
kashaf’s character had great potential in the beginning—a feminist with strong political views who held her ground, i was rooting for her!!! but her character completely crumbled as she got older and the story progressed.
i really hated so many parts about this book but what i hated the most was kashaf’s acceptance of zaroon’s behaviour. i mean, we’re introduced to such a strong and powerful character in the beginning only for her to turn into a robot who lives to serve her husband and accept his bullshit (like girl… he literally slapped you twice and practically called you a whore and kicked you out while being a complete dick himself).
