Mrs Morphett's Macaroons by Patsy Trench

4.0

This is the second book in a series about women in different ages, Mrs Morphett’s Macaroons is the second set in the Edwardian age.
It’s a light and entertaining story but it’s also an informative read because the author’s theatre experience made the story realistic as she knows what she’s talking about and how hard people work to prepare a debut.
The characters are fleshed out, I liked Violet and Robbie and their relationship. They’re a couple of clever characters. There’s plenty of humour in this story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I read the book in one setting, and it was an excellent way to escape the bleak reality of these days.
An entertaining, compelling, and interesting story that I recommend.
