“‘I know you’re mine. I know it. Deep down, in that part of my brain that doesn’t care what is right or how society dictates how people choose a mate. I chose you. I want you. Just you. My brain has picked you, and now, I can’t undo it. You’re trapped. With me. For life.’”

Something is wrong with me because the crazier they are, the harder I fall.

Adam is everything; the perfect boyfriend. He’s possessive, obsessive, a stalker, “touch him and die” kind of man. He saw Noah and knew nothing else except he had to have him. And Noah has the kind of trauma and daddy issues that he finds that endearing.

The whole billionaire raising psychopaths to be mercenaries plot line is fascinating. I love the whole dynamic of Adam’s family and how he is with his brothers. And the way they kind of made a little place for Noah was so cute.

This was a pretty dark and triggering book. Lots of crimes against children, and a lot from Noah’s POV. It’s a really tough read, but the relationship between Adam and Noah is very light and cute. There’s a good balance between all the themes.

I’m really excited to read the rest of this series. The Mulvaney family is super interesting. Big Umbrella Academy vibes.
