I was scrolling through the recommendations on Kindle, and this one just popped out at me. I picked it up because of the cover and the exciting synopsis. I love it when I do that, and it is an excellent book. This is very dark because we see some disturbing scenes between Katie and Preston. Katie recounts a lot of the domestic violence and emotional abuse she deals with that happens with him. The book literally starts with her fleeing from him. She just doesn't go home one day and runs to Swiss. She has no idea who Swiss is or the connection between him and her husband, but she knows he scares Preston, so she's determined to have him protect her. Was there a little bit of insta-love? Kind of, but it wasn't too bad. I think she ended up being there longer than it seemed and was determined to build a new life there in this little town. Swiss is the MC pres, and we got to spend a lot of time in the clubhouse and with the club. I've realized that I love it when we spend a lot of time in the clubhouses and with the other members for MC books. It just adds to the fun chaos; we would only get that if we focused on the characters. There is a moment here when Swiss's book boyfriend card is getting revoked because he is dumb, but he quickly fixes himself and goes and gets his lady back. However, if you are curious about this book, check the content warnings first because it gets a bit graphic.
