Devil of Dublin
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is one of those books that had me captured from the get go. By 30%, I was thinking - this is potential for the top five reads of the year. I feel it in my heart. And it’s all about how it made me feel. The mystical nature. A child’s willingness to believe in fairies. Some things that can’t quite be explained.

Darby’s inquisitiveness and creativity as a young girl forms the basis of her attachment to Kellen. Kellen, is enthralled by her. He’s never known kindness before. We see both of them as children through the years, and what they mean to each other. It’s this foundation that drives their devotion to each other. They recognize the trauma each other bears and work to ease it.

While, yes I suppose this is a mafia romance, Kellen is NOT your typical mafia romance hero. At all. He’s brutal and violent, by necessity. He’s no alpha hole dominant, or in the mafia as a family tie. It’s really quite a brilliant way this entire tale is told. It makes you believe in magic.
