I absolutely loved the culty vibes in Cline's The Girls and I recommend it every chance I get. Needless to say, I was SO ready for The Guest. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. I couldn't pin the age of the main character, Alex. Her voice and actions bounced between mature and young and naive. Also, the relationship with Jack - weird.
