The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

3.0

The never ending hype made me read it. Good things first: I appreciate the metaphorical representation of societal injustice specially at the hand of ruling class and how other people's misery can be considered "teatime" gossip and nothing more when repeated injustice seeps into your heart making it stone old.
The bad things: I, however, wasn't impressed with character building, in fact there was no character development at all. Our protagonists, Katniss, kept being annoying for her lack of sensibility. She was fierce but most of the times she was just silly and way too self-centered.

I feel like giving it 2.75/5 stars.
