My first book by Linda Howard and I enjoyed it.

Mystery is my favorite genre so when I see this book being a romance/suspense plus the dog on the cover, I wanted to read it. I didn't know the degree of "romance" so that was a bit of a surprise.

I would probably give this book a 4 stars; beginning was great and after chapter 18 things start happening. Could have skipped the whole middle section which has nothing to do with Morgan's mystery but just town folk drama and the dog.
