Nine books in, the series finds its footing (!)

Kate Daniels, detective, actually has a case for the first time. The urban fantasy has settled down more or less to a set of consistent rules, the Beauty & the Beast romance angle has calmed down, and most importantly it finds its humor and found family banter.
