This reading experience was truly enchanting. Through the Wicked Wood will be on a pedestal in my heart for some time now.

This story follows our FMC, Elora, who has her wounds that has lead her to a life of solitude and hard-to-earn trust. She has lived alone in a forest for three years when a near death experience leads her to Sorin. Sorin is our MMC who seems to have no cares in the world despite trying to save his homeland from weak, small men trying to control magick and it’s holders; AKA SUNSHINE.

As these two begin their journey through a PNW-inspired fantasy land, they come across on of my favorite Hobbit-like-towns I’ve ever read and a found family.

Oh. And there’s wolves. Like loveable, protective, badass, if they die I will be crying for a month, wolves.

This story story is a wonderful adventure that I am completley obsessed with. However, for me and probably a lot of readers, it’s also a dedication to grief. Each time Elora or Sorin felt that paralyzing ache in their hearts, I felt it too. Those who grieve bond with others who grieve as well. @k , thank you for your heart, sharing it, and giving so many of us some more friends to connect to in our sadness and heartache.

There’s so much more to say about this story, so, good thing it’s storming here so I’ll just HAVE to take a photo of my Kinny with the trees and ramble some more.
