I've seen Kennedy Ryan books for a little while now, but I've never managed to pick one up before now, but Book of the Month had Before I Let Go as a pick one month, and I ended up picking it, and I am so glad that I did! This book focuses on a family that is dealing with the aftermath of a tragic divorce. I describe it as tragic because it first came out of nowhere, resulting in some important deaths for this family. Then, we flashback to when Yasmen is in the depths of her depression, she's trying to handle the events that just took place, and the whole family is just suffering. Then, finally, to the current time period where Josiah and Yasmen are officially divorced, finally in a good place, and trying to figure out this new co-parenting thing, so this book is deep and goes over some very tough subjects, and the more you read, the more you unravel these truths and learn more about the things that these families went through. Even though it deals with some really hard subjects, it was a very captivating story, and I could not put it down!
