Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro
4.0
I enjoyed this, I loved Klara and couldn’t help but root for her. The book in general was pretty vague and although I think it worked, it was a little annoying at times. I wanted them to fully explain “lifted children”. I thiiink I know, but do I know? Also, why was it that exposing Josie to the sun did actually make her health improve? The way I interpreted that is that because she was “lifted”, she does actually have some sort of solar absorption similar to the AF’s? But idk if I’m reaching.
Ending was underwhelming but I did like the experience of reading through klara’s point of view and the overall way the plot wrapped up. I’m glad Rick chooses to go to college and explains the love btw him and Josie as deeper than just a romance. I’m a sucker for deep friend love in a platonic relationship
