Olga Dies Dreaming by Xochitl Gonzalez
5.0
I was blown away by how complex the characters in this book were. The author really masterfully created these deep, complicated people that read as real instead of just symbols or tropes. The fact that so many of the characters showed a balance between light and dark traits, good and bad, and motivations.
I thought the author really did something interesting by taking the dysfunctional family story and turning it in a very unique direction. The role of Olga and Prieto’s mother created the most interesting, unique conflict that was so compelling to read.
