Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix

3.5 stars — I LOVE the concept, but the execution was mediocre. The horror aspects are kinda cliché and though unsettling, not entirely enough to be horrifying for me. I like the POV and the writing style, as well as the illustrations/diagrams and the way capitalism and institutionalization are tied into what makes this book scary. However, the characters are all pretty weak, and not well-fleshed-out enough for me to really care. It’s a quick read and it’s pretty fun, but don’t expect to be scared out of your mind. Unless maybe you already are terrified of ikea?
