Solito by Javier Zamora

5.0

This is a moving and important memoir about 9 year old Javier Zamora’s 7 week migration story from El Salvador to the United States, leaving behind his beloved Grandparents and Aunt to join his parents in California. I listened to the audio while reading. It was excellently presented by Javier himself, an eloquent work of art. A story of both birth family and family formed out of necessity. I highly recommend to anyone on a mission of "read until you understand." Prior to writing his memoir, Javier wrote a book of poetry which I'm looking forward to reading.
