a slow-paced masterfully told fantasy classic.

very character driven and an often solitary story focused on kvothe.
he could be considered an unreliable narrator since he is retelling his own life story and can present it in whichever way he chooses.

the prose is stunning. lyrical, yet very readable.

the soft and hard magic systems here were fascinating - one being more philosophical and one being more spiritual and scientific.
